- For Money
For Fame?
In my case I wish to bring hope to someone. I don't care if my books are best selling --just that whoever needs them gets them.
If a child can be influenced properly--great!
How about you? I think you are " write on," Alice. Bringing hope, showing someone a way through the wilderness, the means to not only survive, but thrive - there are so many ways to do that. Each of us has a unique approach and message. Sometimes I think I might write more openly if I used a pseudonym. I wouldn't need the mask I wear to go out in public. A little money wouldn't hurt, but I could do without the fame, I think. Ann |

| Just now read this: - Quote :
- In each person’s life there comes a time when he or she pursues growth and expansion on the level of form…when you strive to overcome limitation …acquire new skills and knowledge, or through creative action bring something new into this world that is life-enhancing for yourself as well as others. This may be a piece of music or a work of art, a book, a service you provide, a function you perform, a business or organization that you set up or make a vital contribution to. When you are present, when your attention is fully in the Now, that Presence will flow into and transform what you do. There will be quality and power in it. You are present when what you are doing is not primarily a means to an end (money, prestige, winning) but fulfilling in itself, when there is joy and aliveness in what you do. And, of course, you cannot be present unless you become friendly with the present moment. That is the basis for effective action, uncontaminated by negativity. (from Eckhart Tolle, A New Earth)
Now that is synchronicity! Ann |

| I, too, write to bring hope to people who may be struggling with their situations. I'm hoping to grow in different directions as a writer. Time will tell . . . |

| Sometimes I write because I think my ideas and knowledge might have meaning to someone else, or because I need to put thoughts down somewhere for posterity, or I can finally put the words down in a way that others will find entertaining or meaningful.
It is sometimes difficult to put our writing on this messageboard for others to read and make comments. We have gone through these issues before. Do we want our writing critiqued or opinions given on words or style used?
I do not need to write for money, but I also think it is all right to do so. Is something valuable if there is not price tag on it?
My writing lately has been on my caringbridge site, sort of like blogging about having cancer. I think sometimes people think that living with cancer means one is dying, but that is not what it is about. We live, live, live, and one day we die, and I want others to know that. I want neither sympathy, nor attention, nor to make people feel sad, but I do want to connect with others in my life, and the way that site is set up with a guest book for responses is a neat idea. One day I introduced everyone to everyone else, because my cousin wanted to know who the other people were, and I was overwhelmed that they were from all parts of my life and all parts of the world.
And I keep learning. Does my writing have universality, appeal to many, or does it only appeal to a certain population?
And as if those were enough reasons to write, I write to learn, to improve, to connect with others, to create.
Love, Carol |

I write to bring enlightment to people, my book " Dusty," to give animal lovers or children a story of a boy and his pet cat. Clara Layten, a murder mystery for people who love who done it. Visions Of Freedom to show how one person sacrificies for his freedom from communism. My greatest wish is to get young people to read and to open their world and maybe learn lessons..
Cheers..Joe |

| Dear Alice, Most of my life, I have been a reader, reading what came out of other peoples minds and imaginings. I envied the way the writer could put words on paper and kind of plug his/her mind right into mine so that my eye could see what he or she thought up or knew.
The Wooffer stories were my first attempt to put into words something of my imaginings so that someone else could read those words and see what I could see with my own mind's eye.

| I can't really say why I write, too many reasons such as a need to do so or a love/hate relationship that has been with me forever, in th written word. For my kids, when they were younger it was a way to entertain them. Make up a story which was theirs and they seem to love. If I didn't write I would be bored with all these ideas rolling around with no outlet. It would be so frustrating not to get them tapped into the computer. Life is after all hard enough without us making it more difficult. |

| Writing is my trade. I would stop if people stopped reading it. Also I find speaking a pain.
I collected one of my kids from pre-school a while back and he said ‘Dad are you an Arthur?’ Not a proper one I replied. |
