I just wish Alice's picture showed more of her!! My job takes me to Los Angeles often enough. I wouldn't want to live there. Too warm and too desert like. Not my thing. My husband's family lives there and loves it. But I lived in Sunnyvale CA (Bay Area) for five years and *loved* it. Great weather. Great community. Great people. Cultural diversity. Involved communities. Tons of things to do and see. Safe neighborhoods. |

| The northern half is much more likeable in my opinion, and that would include the Bay Area, in my mind. Much of it is very like Washington. |

Obviously they gave you life. I want some examples of how they taught you to live. I sent you a personal message. |

| If I were to move back to California, it'd definitely be in the northern part--I love the Monterey area. Los Angeles in the early 70's for a 20-year old girl from the mid-west was a dream come true. And a blast! But now I'd prefer the northern part along the coast. I love Santa Barbara, too.
When I took my two kids to L.A. for the first time, we went to Hollywood and parked in a parking garage. We got out of the car, and there were Batman, Superman and Crocodile Dundy! Welcome to Hollywood, kids! |

And I do *LOVE* Washington!! Love the forests!!! Thanks for the lovely comments on my new Avatar. It was taken at Sea Lion Caves along the Oregon coast. |

| There is a very good reason my pictures are shrinking--I am at least 60 pounds less than the first picture of me with the white duck.
I am hoping to shrink some more.

| Pam, I told somebody the other day that my planned diet wasn't going well because I ate a giant slab of fruitcake.
They made fun of me for liking it.
My mother and my grandmother made actual fruitcake from scratch as opposed to the kind that's made in abandoned Edsel factories that we get in the stores.
I'm glad to see you're a quality person with fruitcake in your life.

| On the original post...
I can't write or discuss my childhood until my Mother dies. She doesn't remember it the same as I do and says I am lying. She'd probably sue me if she got wind of anything I wrote about that. So unless I can mask the information I try not to discuss it in public. That is why Chapter 7 of my book talks about a woman named Mary who was a part of most of my life. My Mother's name is Mary. *grin* |
