| There is a story in the new Third Degree, the monthly publication of Mystery Writers of America, about Tony Hillerman (above), who died a couple of weeks ago. Robert Redford was in Albuquerque so he called Tony and invited him to dinner so they could discuss making movies of Tony's books about the Navajos. Hillerman turned him down because he had a previous date to play poker. He said, "No decent man would break a social engagement to discuss business." Tony Hillerman was a fine man who was awarded the Silver Star in WWII. If you haven't read his books, look them up or you'll miss some great stories and outstanding writing. |
