The bone looks very smooth, Joe. Did the surgeon remove some torn cartilage?

11/14 Shelagh.. He told me he re-attached the meniscus and found about 29% Arthritis and took it out, I have on each side of the top of the knee stitches and on my right side of the left knee I have another set of stitches, a friend told me that's probably where they used the camera and instruments ? I'm still stiff , tomorrow I get the stitches out.. Cheers........ Joe.........

The invention of the MRI and/or CT has helped surgeons with operations. They are effective before and after an operation to see how it worked. Glad to hear that you are on the mend, Joe.

Keep us informed, Joe. It is helpful to learn how operations like this turn out. There are many seniors faced with joint problems some requiring surgery. There are some that decline surgery electing to seek other remedies to eliminate the pain. Yesterday was the annual Senior’s Day in our village sponsored by the Town Council. I didn’t realize that there were so many of us. Some came in wheel chairs and some using walkers or canes. Those who could not manage on their own were picked up by volunteers from the town. As usual, there were new faces attending while some were missing. (Those who received invitations are age 70 and above). The Mayor read the names of those who passed during the past year and we all stood in a moment of silence honoring their memory. I was pleased that my wife could attend this year. Her complaint was listening to others talking about their physical problems that can be depressing. My wife is scheduled to enter the hospital on December 6th for further treatment. This treatment has now become an “every six-months” event. She knows that there is no cure, however the treatment does provide relief. She is examined from head to toe including mental analysis. Testing is done to determine how effective the medication is working and adjustments are made if deemed necessary. She believes that she has become a test case and the information gathered is provided to physicians with patients having the same disease. Advances in medicine continue with much research. There is always hope that a cure can be found for the many existing diseases.
