Has nothing to do with seniors.....It's for people who don't have insurance, so now we must move on to more important matters that effect the great middle class of this country " JOBS !!!,"

| Alice, I'm with you. It is an important step in the direction of universal coverage. With a goo universal program there would be no need for Medicare or other supplements. |

| The repeal of ACA is on the leading edge of every Republican Presidential candidate's platform. I guess they don't need the 16 million votes of the formerly uninsured. |

| "I have never been able to understand all the fuss some people make about government wanting to do something to improve and protect the health of the people. I usually find that those who are loudest in protesting against medical help by the federal government are those who no not need help. But the fact is that a large portion of our population cannot afford to pay for proper medical and hospital care."
Harry Truman, 1954 |

| Thanks, Al, for stating it so clearly. I agree with you completely.
The ACA did make a positive difference for seniors. It made certain screening tests required at no co-pay and a couple other enhancements that save seniors on medicare a few pennies.
Not everyone on medicare and social security is doing well. Some social security payments are miniscule based on the wages and length of employment of the recipient. The medicare payment, however, is standard based on amount of social security received. Then medicare only pays 80% and that 20% can be a whopper. |

| It is not perfect, but it is a positive step in the right direction. I think that once it is finally accepted, then tweaking may enhance the program. Al is right about the political side. Doing what is in the best interests of all Americans is the right thing to do. Those who oppose it, like the GOP, may find that they are being exposed for what they are and that is for the rich. Those in need look for someone to champion their cause. The only Candidate so far is Bernie Sanders and I think it is the primary reason he is rising in the polls. |
