| I suppose since curtains can't protect us, we could wear tin foil in our hats. |

| Security is an illusion. There is no such thing. The reality is that there is nothing we can do that will protect us from the possibility of harm.
That is the problem with the "one percent" who think that if they hoard enough wealth they can keep themselves safe and secure. It is the problem with Fundamentalists who think that if they follow the "Word" to the letter and say the right prayers, that they will be "saved."
"Sh** Happens," folks.
"Protection" is a racket that is sold to the people by the mobsters who control the city streets. You would think we had to choose one or rhe other - security or freedom.
Once again, it is the extreme views that are the root of our fears. Try to find the middle ground. Since this started with a discussiion of drones, let's use that example. The technology is not the problem. The root of the problem is, as Abe said of Al's perspective, is the need to feel secure. When we spend all of our time worrying about whether or not some extremists might misuse the technology, we lose out on the opportunities to feel joyful in the meantime, and miss out on the uniqueness of low-flying aerial photography - not to mention the safety of the pilots who might have to fly the planes without the drone technology.
We miss out on a lot of laughter and inspiration and fellowship.
The only thing we can control is the present moment - the Now. This time, this blissful evening, after a day when the rain here in SA has kept us inside, while it fills our aquifer with fresh wter and gives us enough to spare that we can look after our yards and gardens a bit longer.
Enjoy the moments. They are the only things you can be sure of.
Just me. |

| I have decided to not worry about the drones. Hubby says when one comes on our property, BAM he will hit it with a baseball bat and squash it. |

| Alice, perhaps reverse psychology will work. We know that people do the opposite of what we want. Observe those "Don't touch - Wet Paint" signs. The fingerprints tell the tale. Actual event: In White Plains, NY, there were numerous car thefts. A man wanted to have his car stolen (that he couldn't sell) so he parked the car on his front lawn and placed a sign in the window. "For Theft". No one touched it. What about a sign that reads: "Drones welcome." That may be more effective. |

| Yes, Joe. Taoism is one of the philosophies that supports that outlook.

| I know. We can have our own drones circling our houses and neighborhoods watching out for the "other" drones. |

| Drones seen by aircraft landing at JFK airport. How long before they cause an accident? They can get sucked into an engine and cause it to stall. As with most things, nothing much will be done until enough people die. |
