3D Systems Is Making Printable Food a Possibility

If you thought the consumer-centric 3-D printing possibilities from Stratasys' (NASDAQ: SSYS  )  recent $400 million merger with MakerBot were exciting, you're gonna love this.
3D Systems  (NYSE: DDD  ) may have started selling its affordable Cube line of 3-D printers at Staples in June, but on Tuesday the additive manufacturing stalwart announced that it has acquired The Sugar Lab, a California-based "start-up micro-design firm" which, just like it sounds, specializes in the 3-D printing of real sugar.

3D printers are also used to make bio-replacement parts and guns.

I just received a contract from TAB/McGraw Hill today to write a book about how to use them.

Did you look at the article?  Meat too.  It's beyond my comprehension.  That should be an interesting book to write!

I'm actually writing more about how to use software to make files to send to the printer, but I'll include some info like what you posted. Yeah, I can't quite comprehend it either, especially since you can supposedly make biological things with it.

The book is a trade book btw, not a textbook.
