| In the last week: job interview that went well - still unknown outcome; a lovely gift from a fan of the ghost orchid who is an artist. She made a replica of the ghost orchid with French beading and her spouse turned the wood base and anchor for the orchid. It is exquisitely beautiful and she presented it to me at the co-op artist gallery at a local mall. It was in honor of my Ghost Orchid novel, inspired by the actual ghost orchid of Blair Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary.
I am also slowly losing weight and am grateful for my physician who holds a Monday night weight loss class at the end of her work day. It seems that we are all losing in gratitude for her wanting to help her patients with something besides pills or referrals. |

| So often it seems that life is a struggle. Sometimes it's easy to let the positives slip by with a ho hum. I think they need to be celebrated so the joy holds for the more difficult times. One can look back and remember something joyful instead of the worst day. I often hear people say, "my worst day...." Perhaps remembering a collection of "best days" is a thought whose time has come.
Thank you for smiling with me. I don't think I added that full moon - and my birthday is July 10 when the ghost orchid blooms - so this is really a mystical time if you believe in that stuff.

| DK, You are a joy your own self, and your posts on this board are beautiful. Many people see the gloom, but you have always seen the sunshine. Sometimes it is just a glimmer, but that glimmer will shine forth in your words.
I love you dearly. Love, Betty |

| Congrats, DK!
I am about to return to college and finish my BA. I've had enough of being a long haul trucker. Plus, I want to (self) publish my giant novel (when it's done). |

| Returning to college is a great idea! Today there are so many choices. Good luck with finishing that novel, too. Accomplishing long held goals is also a time of joy!
WordPress blog by dkchristi This is my WordPress blog where I try to write only about joyful things. It has the picture of Nancy presenting my gift if you are so inclined to take a look. |

I found a picture of the Ghost Orchid on Nancy's site: |

| This is the ghost orchid design she presented to me. Isn't it beautiful? Unfortunately, the picture taken at the gallery doesn't do it justice. The beauty of the French beading is its reality from a distance and then the delicacy of the beading close up.
Thank you for posting the picture!! I was so honored to meet her and to enjoy the beauty everywhere from many artists who shared the gallery. |

| Pardon me Ann for borrowing your joy thread idea - I was just so full of it. Copying is a form of flattery - sometimes. |
