hello

i just spent +2 hours searching online for a quote of "madame de Staël" with no results! >.<

i have no access to any of her books, and can't find the original quote in english-or-french no matter how hard i looked! Sad

all i have is the translation of it that goes like ---> "if you knew everything you would have excused everyone".. it also can be translated into "if I knew everything......." because the you\I can be written the same in the translation i have! ^^;

anyone heard of it before? know the original quote or even which book of hers i should look it in?
