| Today, I planted the house garden stacks. 40 plants of each: collard, mustard, Swiss chard, spinach and lettuce (only 12 lettuce). Also, turnips, onions, beets, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and radishes. I went to town and bought the Christmas tree and David and I put it in the stand, added water and put the lights on it. Now, I am cooking ribs (sweet and sour) on the grill, scalloped potatoes, a salad and the lima beans that I grew last summer and rolls.
Tomorrow is a new day!
Love,
Betty |

| DK, I was looking at those articles on Facebook. You are one of a kind for sure!
Annie, Life is short. You have to cram in all you can every day....I think.
Joe, One thing we do not need here is heavy winter drapes. I just have wooden valences and blinds that fit the windows. It works for me, simple and the only thing they need is dusted!
Love,
Betty |

| I've been updating my Spreadshirt website. I've removed most of the items and started afresh. I've added three new designs with one of my poems. I intend adding more designs with my poems. For now, there are four new items:

I'll maybe use the rainbow photo with one of my poems, Alice. |

| Thanks, Betty, for looking at the articles. Keeps me busy and engaged in the community. I should be writing the "great novel," but there's instant gratification from the short articles. |

| I've been traveling, working, trying to spend some quality time with my wife and family--definitely not on Facebook, Twitter or on any other board for a few days. Things are still hectic at home and work. |

| Thanks for checking in, Victor, I am knitting a pale green blanket for Kenzie. I crocheted her a pink jumper and a dark green blanket with flowers, painted her snowmen, got her a soft doll--now it is time to knit. Fun, fun, fun! Christmas shopping is all done and overdone. Cards will go out tomorrow, Our kids and grandkids are coming in the middle of the night on the 21st--hope they make it before the world ends! The news media wouldn't know what to do without a crisis. It is raining and blowing and they must remind us how to drive, dress and think. It is funny and entertaining as well. |

| Ezzie Mayuga was a good friend when my son was born and an avid knitter - I mean no spare minute did not include her knitting. She also suffered from cancer that caused her excruciating pain and self-hypnotized herself to survive the pain without being over medicated. We lived in Southern California and she knit my son beautiful white cableknit sweaters and jumpers and hats and booties and bibs and rompers - all in beautiful ivory. Yet, the weather was never really cold enough for much use. I hung onto those knit things for years and finally passed them on. They were treasured.
The ladies at my church knit love shawls - shawls in a lightweight yarn to give to people in pain for one reason or another, knit with prayer to give comfort. It's a nice gesture and the shawls are pretty. They knit them for men too. |

| Let's hope it improves. It would be nice to have a new era of living in the here and now.
Today is quite enough to deal with. I actually bcame irked with Candy Crawly when she askeed someone who they wanted for President in 2016.
We just got through that garbage. |

| Yeah, Facebook is still holding the election of 2012 - still slamming the President. That proves their stupidity since he's it to 2016 - so they might as well support the United States until then - and then have another go with a new candidate. It's so much spit in the wind to continue the hate Obama campaign. In my books, it's downright unpatriotic. The country spoke. Enough is enough. But it is a free country; I guess some people get their jollies from this stuff. I'm glad the election is over. It's plain over for me. Now it's time to finally do the country's work and stop obeying the lobbyist Grover Norquist -I am just amazed that a non-elected lobbyist should be given more power than Boehner by the republicans. Seems they like to follow the non-elected bunch who make their living off of everyone else by promoting themselves. |

We just got through that garbage. Keep thinking about your vision of that perfect world, and you will be a part of making it our NOW. What we think about has an effect on our actions, and those actions help to create the change we want to see. - Quote :
- ...one river of time had stopped for me that summer noon when Shimoda had been shot.. It was an ending I could never believe nor understand; it was stalled there and I lived it a thousand times again, hoping it might somehow change....One night late in October, after I got scared and left a crowd in Mississippi, I came down in an empty little place just big enough to land the Fleet. Once again before I slept, I thought back to that last moment -- why did he have to die? There was no reason for it....no one to talk with....Thinking thus I slept, and sleeping, dreamed....He was kneeling on the grass of a meadow, his back to me, patching the hole in the side of [his] Travel Air where the shotgun blast had been. ...I knew that I was dreaming, and I also knew that this was real. "DON!"
He stood slowly and turned to face me, smiling at my sorrow and my joy. "Hi, fella," he said. I couldn't see through my tears. There is no dying... "Donald...you're alive! What are you trying to do?" I ran and threw my arms around him and he was real. I could feel the leather of his flying jacket, crush my arms inside it. "Hi," he said, "Do you mind? What I am trying to do is patch this hole here," --- "With dope and fabric?" I said. "With dope and fabric you're trying to fix...? You don't do it that way, you see it perfect, already done..." and as I said the words I passed my hand like a screen in front of the bloody hole and when my hand moved by, the hole was gone... "So that's how you do it!" he said, his dark eyes proud of the slow learner who made it good at last as a master mechanic. I didn't find it strange; in my dream, it was just the way to do the job.

Kenzie isn't quite old enough for this yet ... but I've designed a "Forever Families" T-shirt for kids: http://shelaghwatkins.spreadshirt.co.uk/kids-classic-t-shirt-A22898489/customize/color/1 (Place cursor over T-shirt to see the design) |

| What a great gift idea - the t-shirt with the book. It also carries a message for those who push "family values" - which includes me though I believe a family is the affinity group from which you get the quality of life provided by our expectation from family life. |

| I'm not quite sure how this works, but I signed up to CafePress. The design is automatically put onto a number of products, but I haven't figured how to add two designs to one product (logo + text). This is my first attempt:
