The Hero's Journey Empty
PostSubject: The Hero's Journey   The Hero's Journey EmptyMon Aug 13, 2012 5:50 am

Quote :
The hero's journey is a symbol that binds in the original sense of the word, two distant ideas: the spiritual quest of the ancients; with the modern search for identity.

Joseph Campbell; The Hero's Journey

I like to think that Daniel Redstone embodies both of those ideas.

A modern individual's "identity," it seems to me, is about finding out why one is here, and what it is that s/he is supposed to contribute.

The quest itself is solitary, but the answers one finds are to be brought back to the community, and should assist, in some way, that community's growth.

Every life has a purpose that serves the whole of life.

The answer to the question, "Who an I?" always involves the idea of, "How am I to serve?"

Just me reflecting on my morning's perspective.
