I wonder what the logic was that had the female crew in bikini uniforms and the men in complete space suits. The women were smart and powerful, just very scantily dressed.

We know the sexual attraction aspect; but in a show with scientific overtones, it seems strange if one thinks about it - and it's consistent. Certainly females would get as cold as males and their bodies be in danger from the alien elements as well.
