| I hate to just post a link, but I have gone from one article per month to five per month in the Southwest Spotlight, and some of the articles in the April issue have universal appeal beyond the Bonita Springs and Southwest Florida area.
Since I don't blog regularly, this is turning into my short essay writing outlet. Anyway, I'd love for you to take a look at April's five articles at

| Forgot to add that the Southwest Spotlight is a Bonita Springs and Southwest Florida area monthly newsprint magazine with distribution locally by mailbox and in over 25 rack locations of around 20,000 and growing. It also has an online presence. I've gone from novelist to journalist - usually it's the other way around :-) |

| Dear Diane, I enjoyed every article. While I was reading, I thought how proud Dick would be of you. How he would smile and be so happy for your success. I thought how proud I am of you. You are not just another pretty face!
Do not let the lack of response here discourage you in any way. There is an ebb and flow of attention here. It is like the waxing and waning of the moon and perhaps it has a lot to do with those phases like it has to do with whether corn grows well if planted in the full moon or the decreasing moon.
I wish you every good thing.
Love, Betty |

| Wow. A writer and journalist. As Betty said, Dick would be proud, of course we're all proud of you. |

| Thank you so much for bringing up Dick's name. I had great respect for him. I believe we all miss his forthright approach to ideas and professionalism.
Yet, we do have some very professional people still with us with great ideas and the willingness to put them forth for everyone to enjoy.
There are some new people too who take this writing endeavor a serious and deserving the perseverance it takes.
A publisher just sent me an email saying there was a lot of "telling" my story that still needs another edit - another edit - and another edit - we edit so much and them the professionals edit more. Life is an edit...:-) |

| Sometimes I think there is such a thing as "over-editing". Sometimes we edit out the nuances that make the story interesting. I'd rather read an exciting story that contains some grammatical errors than a dull story that is grammatically correct. That's just my opinion. |

| Egads - when is the Forever Families story due? And how many words? I am working on one for that publication also and it slipped into the back burner....
The newspaper writing has taken time from writing novels - and it's easier. Thanks for the kudo's. |

| I made an announcement two hours ago about the anthology, and I've already received two submissions! Not that anybody should rush to submit! Let's make this a really great anthology. Take your time over your stories and give it your best shot! |

| Thank you all for the kind comments and for taking the time to read the articles. I am challenged by the variety of topics handed to me by the publisher. Next month I am writing about two deputies who died in the line of duty. That will be my most difficult yet. |
