I guess Syria's Assad must think by killing more people
will save his tush, hasn't he learned what happened
to other dictators in the past two years ? I pray for
the Syrian people that this ends peacefully....

Joe,

I think it's way too late for it to end peacefully. I pray we stay out of it and don't send any of our young people over there to die trying to be the policemen for the world. For a change the UN wanted to do something as a body. Russia and China, fearing they may have to use force to put down unrest in their countries, vetoed it. It is civil war and I,m afraid it will only escalate.

Who in power wishes to step down? Thank God we live in a country where power now changes peacefully even if it rests in the hands of the wealthy.

However, we are a young country. Our history is one of violence and murder, genocide, slavery and hatred.

I think it is good when we can look at ourselves. When other countries use force to keep the population in line, we condemn it. What will happen when own police use force to "keep the peace"? Let's hope it does not happen. Citizens will tolerate only so much before taking action. We are not immune to violence.
Inequity is at the root of the problem and it can be corrected. I hope we vote with that in mind.

Russia sold Syria a bunch of war planes... not good to make enemies with one's customer. The U.S. understands that clearly.
