Abe mentioned this story to me some time ago. I am so glad to see it in publication. His son is a talented writer also.

The cover is as grim as the story must be.

A bit of background to this story: When I read Dick Stodghill’s book, I discussed Hermann Frech with him in private emails. Dick said, “Write the story and I’ll help you.” I asked Hermann to write his recollections of his stint in the Germany Army, and he did. In the meanwhile, Dick passed away. I could say that this story was inspired by Dick. I only wish the two of them could have met. They both served at a young age on opposite sides of a war, yet I’m convinced that they would have become good friends.

Anxiously awaiting my copies of the book. I suppose the weather is a factor in delivery delays.
I'ts very cold here and it has started snowing. Brrrrrrr. I had to pry my gate doors open. The frozen ground is the culprit causing shifting. Now I can't close and lock them so I'm using shims to keep them closed. If there is a benefit, I hope it freezes the insects, however they most likely have gone underground and are below the freeze line.

My husband found it very interesting. He read it it one sitting. He thought it was brilliant, especially the way that it built up towards the end. He said it would make a great film.

Oh, DK, you will be there! Amazon are updating their website (slightly bigger than mine!), and like mine, it's chaotic at the moment. I've just added the memoirs page and I'm working on the children's books page. When all the new pages are done, I'll make sure the existing pages are up-to-date.
