| 12/29/2011 Stem Cell Research , Europe has been performing this for awhile, here they don't recognize it , why ? I have a friend who needs a hip replacement she's 57 , she told me even though some Dr,'s here are doing hip stem cell surgery the insurance companies here don't recognize it, she told me she's going to France. What is your opinion , should we allow it to be recognized and force insurance companies to pay for it ? me...." YES !" Cheers...Joe.. |

| I think the original issue was destroying embroyos--that is no longer necessary, so I vote--Yes. |

| The ethics of surgeries and costs need to be explored. In the U.S. the high cost of any surgery (any physician for that matter) makes the payment for services by insurance a cost consideration. In countries where costs are controlled, so are the costs of expensive, new procedures. |

| Cost is a big issue. My last battery replacement was $37,000+.
Glad I have insurance. |

| I think the person suffering can best answer that question.
I agree with Diane that costs are a huge factor. Cost control is required to make health care available to all who need it regardless of the procedure. If a procedure can save your life, are you concerned about the cost? Who decides whether your life is worth the cost to save it? |
