Fix Me, Love Them: Christianity as it Should Be Empty

Shifting the focus from religion to love.

So often we feel it is our calling to "fix" people for God. But is this really the Christian life as Christ intends? Is it really our place to judge, condemn, and mold people into who we believe they need to be, or are we only to focus on bettering ourselves, so that we may better love others?

Good point-God can direct them--we don't need to. Saving mankind is his job--not ours. The way some Christians live is a real turn off.

Somewhere in the course of church history, we have decided that we need to take on the role of the Spirit.  We feel the need to convict someone of their wrongful ways, and fix their problems so that they can join us.  But the church is to be a place where someone can come with their problems, take part in a journey with others who also fall short, and feel loved and supported in their search for a better way of life.  The church is to be a place of hope and peace in the midst of a life full of emptiness and searching.  We are to be a source of encouragement and comfort to those lost in loneliness and sorrow.
