I am laughing. Seattle, WA is outlawing plastic bags.

For years they would ask. "paper or plastic? " The common wisdom was that if you wasted a tree to haul your groceries home, you were selfishly destroying the environment, that trees were necessary in order to breathe (I wonder how folks breath in the dessert) and on and on.

Being from the timber industry, we knew it was a bunch of hooey, but they wouldn't listen then.

Thank heavens, times change. lol!

You are both right--no waiting necessary.

Now I am waiting for them to decree that hybrid cars are ruining the environment. Global cooling will be a problem and the hybrids will be the cause.
