I love when contributors give me stuff for my book. :)

Which is usually harder to get than you might think. Being that I write texts that are heavily illustrated, I'm always asking (begging) for pictures. My cold-call results aren't that good; I usually have to work connections. I just got back from the office of a contributor to my PH book (someone whom I had to go through fairly elaborate lengths to make a connection with). I gave him a copy of the text, showed him his pics, and, being as I give little for free, lol, asked him if I could use more of his work in the upcoming 2nd edition of my Cengage book (he had given me more pictures than I used for the PH book). He not only said yes, but gave me a bunch more, which I've been happily scanning all morning.

It's a good day when I get stuff like this.
