| How about that! Here I am grateful that the hurricane seems to be east of us - and then they have an Earthquake in Virginia. Strange World. I think I'll go see Planet of the Apes. |

| Judy's driving home from Virgina today. My kids and grandkids live there. The cell phone system is dead so we can't check on them. The news reports are encouraging, though. No mass injuries.
I was in an earthquake in Philadelphia in the 1970s. The shaking woke me up, I looked out of my motel room's patio door and saw high waves in the swimming pool. I went back to sleep with a resolve to quit drinking. |

The only danger an earthquake can bring to NYC ( Since I had lived there all my life and found this out, it was a shock !) In West Chester county area is a nuclear site Indian Point that was built on a earth quake fault, so if it had a 8 or 9 quake it's goodbye NYC...

| I have spent most of the day trying to set up a new browser. I am sick of the hang-ups I keep getting with Firefox, so I'm trying Google chrome. I think I will like it eventually, but the set-up is not exactly user friendly.
It sounds like I need to check in on the news. It appears that stuff is happening beyond my PC.

| James will not like their explanations of why earthquakes are so rare on the East Coast. |

| Talked to Dave, Lyn, and Jaycie.
They felt quite a tremor in northern NJ - just south of NYC, but they are fine, and said he NC house is OK, too.
Hope everyone else is .
