| After over a year of not getting very far with my EBOOK, I set it to FREE for the month of July. I have over 40 downloads. I have decided to change the price permanently to "Customer sets the price" and see what happens. |

| You need to write another book. |

| My latest book is done except for minor changes. It is called El Porto Summer. About a 16 year old surfer growing up in California. |

| If you upload both books to Amazon Kindle, format the first book so that it goes into Smashwords premium catalog, set the price to zero, wait until it appears on B&N's Nook and then inform Amazon, they will price match. Mary Macdonald did this with one of her thrillers. It had only been downloaded four times on Smashwords but made over 9,000 downloads the first day it was available for free on Kindle.
If readers enjoy reading the first book, they will buy the second. |

| Thanks Shelagh I haven't decided yet what I will do with the current book. I am looking at different options. I may try to go the traditional route or self-publish. There are lots of choices today. Whatever I do, there will be an Ebook version. I was hoping that Smashwords would have their catalog on Amazon soon. If not I may take your advice. |

| ** Status of my attempt to market my Ebook by making it free on Kindle ** It has been over a few weeks since I set my book to FREE on Smashwords. It took a few days to change on Barnes and Noble. Even though I made Amazon aware that the price has changed over a week ago, the price has not changed on Amazon. I noticed that Amazon now or will soon have an Indie book offering. Not sure how my book or Smashwords would fit into that. |

| ** Status of my attempt to have my book set to "Free" on Amazon. **
I followed the suggestions given but my book is still set at the same price. I am not sure if Amazon has a policy in place to prevent Ebooks from being free on their site. Supposedly, they will price-match, including free. I do know that "Free" is not an option when you submit. I did find a great tip on how to get a Smashwords Kindle Ebook onto a Kindle. So I added the link to my site. Link below. So people can do it that way.

If there are any more suggestions, I am open. I want to have my book free on Amazon for obvious reasons. |

| Hi George,
I would suggest that you upload the second book and then remind Amazon about the free book on B & N. If you persist, it will eventually show up as a free download. It takes longer with single uploads because the free book is meant to generate sales for the non-free book. |

| Interesting event. See email I sent out concerning my downloads on Smashwords. I uploaded an image to go with this.
***************************************************** As most of you know, for some time the Ebook version of my novel has been available for free. I have been doing various things to get visibility so that people will download the book. This includes using “Safelists” and asking various sites to put the info out there. Well, this one site listed my Ebook today and big things happened. I went from a few downloads a day to over 100 in one day. See enclosed picture. The link to the site is listed below. Just goes to show that one listing on the right site can have a huge impact. Wow! http://ereadernewstoday.com/free-kindle-books-2-more-free-books-for-9-21-11/677853/ |
