Can Pres. override Congress Constitutional Issue ?

Here's a good one, " Can the Pres. over ride Congress through the
Constitution 14th Amendment ? For National Debt ?.

Me....I don't think so. Congress is always the
last word. What is your opinion ?

Anyone who cuts SS or Medicare will not get my vote.
Cut spending on war materials. Put money into the hands of the consumer and the economy will rebound. Spend money on America. There is much that can be done for alternative energy that will create jobs. Wind mills, solar panels and water power can harness enough energy to supply the country, and it's clean.

If I know congress, I don't think they'll do
anything, all they talk about is cutting Medicare,
Social Security ! And they won't do any of the items
you mentioned , we're as they say " Screwed !"

When Thomas Jefferson bought Louisiana, he did it without asking Congress, and was concerned about the constitutionality of the step, and considered pushing a constitutional amendment. but it took very little time for the country to see the value of his purchase, and the members of Congress realized that their constituents were happy, so the matter was simply dropped. No one ever disputed the action.

From what I read if a president over steps his
authority he can be impeached by Congress, it
is Congress who has the final authority not the
President.....A President cannot declare an act
of war without congress approval, he cannot
say tomorrow we will up spending by 3 Trillion
dollars without Congress approval, all a President
can do is veto bills, he's a figure head without too
much power and it should be kept that way...
