| We Yanks may not have a Queen, nor a King…but, we do have a President who offers a toast right in the middle of England’s National song, and a First Lady(sic) who pats the Queen on the back. To The Queen, the King, and all the people of Great Britain, we Peasants of The United States of America, Beseech you...”Lock them in the Tower…please."
President Obama botches toast to Queen at Buckingham Palace ...
President Obama botched his toast to the Queen on Tuesday night, delivering his remarks at the wrong time, awkwardly resulting in ... of this special offer and ...

| The White House Staff should have advised the President. It does not speak well of those around him. The poop should fall on the President...he picked the staff. |

| Why don't we catch him doing something right and comment on that?
How many days long was this trip? Mistakes happen. I am glad it wasn't worse.

Alice...
No matter who it is, one you don't talk unless the Queen talks to you. Second you never, ever touch the Queen , at one time that was a death sentence... It's about time American politicians learn and not be so arrogant, that makes this country look bad...
Cheers..Joe |

| It was over two years ago. Why bring it up now? As far as the recent toast was concerned, the error was partly due to the musicians starting before the president's toast was finished.

| Americans have talked about every President we have had. Should this one be treated different? If the guy didn't know what to do...he should have stuffed a sock in it. |

| As you wish--think as you wish. It is a free country--why don't you run for President and win and then you can do eveything correctly. You and Joe. Ann and I will critique.
What fun! |

Cheers..Joe Thank heavens times change. They must have wanted to kill people. A decent queen would not allow someone to be killed because they touched her. What nonsense. |

| welllllll, I think that as a president, he leaves an extremely lot to be desired. As for his toast, I agree it looks bad in the eyes of those that respect the Queens position. On the other hand, it is certainly not the worst thing he has done and there are for sure many More important issues to worry about. |

| He presented himself like he was the most important person there. Like most other things he has done, he did not gather the information needed. He runs his mouth before putting his brain in gear. All other world leaders learn the culture before a visit to other countries. He not only looked stupid…he showed America has a weak leader. If the leader is weak, the people who follow him are weaker. He sends billions to other countries, but can't take care of the people of his own. When a leader supports things such as gay life style, he is going against God. Any country that does that breaks down the family unit, and will fall. |

| Our country has fallen all right. It fell before he became the president.
It is safe to say you do not like him.
Religion and politics should be separate.
The gays are a tough issue. If religion does not enter into politics, on what grounds do we oppose them?
Should we oppose them?

| yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! Written in words I think aloud daily. You, Miss domenic hit the nail right ion the head. This country has absolutely NOT shown that WE, as a people are strong. Our military strength is only a part of our country. The people need to stand up, reallyyyyyyyyyy take a look around and then, place someone in office that is going to restore the pride we should have in the people. the values of a president or leader are so important to the countries stability and the way we are viewed by other country leaders. "In God We Trust!" Really??? Then why are we so eager to boot him out of everything our country was built on. You know, God HAS blessed this country abundatly. But if we keep lowering our standards and allowing the things God said Not to allow, then he may one day say "o.k. i will step back and let you all fend for yourselves for a while. I bet we go to him and ask him back. Mr. President needs to take a little time and get to know the ettiquette that goes with being an "ambassador" to this country. |

| I believe in God, but don't want anyone forced to believe as I do. I am not gay, but have relatives who are.
Through history, people have done terrible things which God would not have approved of in His Name--including killing Jesus.

There is a word in this sentence which Betty was told never to use. Strange... By the way, Domenic is a Mr. not a Miss. |

| Goodness, such high crimes. Maybe it's time to impeach him. Waiting for the next election might be too late. Never mind that we might have to deal with four years of Sarah Palin. What's her mismanagement compared to the horrific crimes mentioned on this thread? Ann |

| Sarah Palin?
One lie after another. She would probably touch the queen and say, " ya betcha." Who knows what she would do with the gays--promote no sex--didn't work with her daughter. Everything is so easy to say and hard to do.
Domenic,
If you were the President, what would you do with the gays? Just curious as usual. |

I believe we have to be tolerant of everyone, this is a free country, no matter what nationality, group, etc. I believe God is tolerant of everyone, except murders...

I would wager He overlooks social gaffes also. The queen is not bothered, why should we be?

| The Queen is part of fairy tales to me. She was in most of the old tales, and it was not until Alice in Wonderland that I understood her. I am sure she has to run twice as fast as that to get anywhere now. I doubt that she was offended at all. How could someone be so full of their own dignity to be offended by a touch on the back and the rest of it. What shallow people we all must be and think that she is to think she was offended. I would tell her to get over it if she was. She is not one whit better than me, or Joe, of Shelagh, or E. Don or Alice or Ann or anyone else. Balderdash@ Love, Betty |
