| 5/19/2011 I'm sure Shelagh knows about this recipe, I've made it a few times in a bread machine, I believe you can also do it by hand, but nothing beats a bread machine... Cheers..Joe |

| That does look good. I don't get to bake as much these days, since Lynn learned she was allergic to wheat. It would have been good with tonight's dinner. I'm back to fixing what seems to have become a favorite: Rotisserie Chicken and herb-roasted vegetables.

| OK, Joe. The dinner is ready for the oven: The chickens are already cooked and just need to reheat. I pre-cooked the potatoes (baby Yukon Golds) so that they would get ready with the veggies: a Brokly-Wokly bag of droccoli, cauliflower, and baby carrots plus about 10 whole garlic cloves. I will drizzle them with olive oil and Nature's Seasons before I put them in the oven with the chickens. The little pan at the back of the stove has fresh herbs from my patio, to be sauteed in a little butter and mixed with the pan juices from the chicken for an herb-butter au jus. What do you think, should I bring in more of the herbs and make an herb butter for your bread? I thought the Naturewood would make a good setting for the simple dinner. Choice of beverages: Becker Cab from a top-rated winery near Fredricksburg, Fireman's 4, a new. mellow golden beer from a brewery in Blanco, Tx (still part of the Hill country - Blanco is also known for its lavendar) or (not shown) minted iced tea. | Too bad Joe couldn't bring his bread. We all need to move to Duette, Florida, and get our fruits and vegetables from Betty and her Dave. With so many good cooks here, we could have a potluck every week.

Ann..
I think we could open an old fashion restaurant/bakery/ fruit & vegetables, you in charge of cooking, me baking, Betty in charge fruit & vegetables, Alice charming the customers , Shelagh in charge of the books, Abe for entertaining, Al second entertainer..Now all we need is a name and a place, Oh I have a name: " Four Authors And A Ladle "
Cheers..Joe |
