More on Redstone's Valley & Enchanted Rock Empty

I ran across this page while surfing this morning. I have decided to create a fictional town called Sandy Creek (which is really Llano, Tx, a real town on the Llano River, but for several aforementioned reasons, doesn't quite fit my fiction story. the very real Sandy Creek runs along the south side of Enchanted Rock, and when it rains a lot (not often), overflows its banks. You can see it in the pic at the top of the page. In periods of drought, like now, it looks like this pic I took last weekend:

(note that I am standing on a concrete overflow protector, and how far below it what little bit of creek exists in this pic. That's how dry our weather has been this spring.)

Quote :
Big Sandy Creek is ideally situated on the front side of the dome and ,
combined with the large granite boulders in the creek bed, provides
interesting compositions at varying times of the year. Weather
conditions determine the flow of water through the area, which
ultimately determine your photographic success.
Uh, yeah.

Scroll down and check out the video. It does a lot to explain the mystery of the place.

Dear Ann,
I watched that video again and again.

There was one in The Hobbit, if I remember it right. Magical place it was, too.

I can imagine your mind when you lay down to sleep and how it must run on and on with story unfolding like pages turning and turning. How wonderful that is . . . like an other life that begins as soon as you close your eyes and full of new friends you alone know. How cool is that?

Love,
Betty
