I agree with Abe, Things are out of control. TOO FAR GONE TO FIX!

At this point we might just need to adjust to it.
Not everything can be reversed.
Unwise actions have consequences.

The USA has lost alot.

Joe:

Coney, the Hights, Midwood, Bensonhurst, now back to Midwood.

In Manhattan: Verdi Square (back when it was drug-infested), Upper East Side, on and off.

In Queens: Astoria, Elmhurst, Rego Park.

Staten Island: the area near the ferry, where The Cargo pub still stands.

Thanks for the description, Rick. Now I know where you are coming from. When I meet a Texan that fits your description, I will let you know. Very Happy

My son prefers your part of the country to here. He currently lives in New Jersey, a few miles west of Newark. His wife is from Middletown. He went to grad school outside of Albany, met her, and now they only come home for holidays. I enjoy visiting him there. I like the people I have met through him and his family. He is happy, so he must be where he is supposed to be. People are just people, wherever they live.

Welcome to the forum.

Do you mean Saks? Saks is a joke, along with Neiman-Marcus and Nordstrom's. You can get the same look for a lot less (not that it will be "cheap") at Dillard's. And savvy shoppers know about Bluefly and various online member-only places like Ideeli and Haute.

About the original topic of this thread. I don't think the HuffPost is any more competent at analyzing the costs of tax cuts to the rich than any of us are. They hardly even employ writers, most of their "staff" is volunteer bloggers. What I've read is that some legislators feel we need to move from the place we've come to where people look at government entitlements as a comfortable hammock they plan to rock in their whol retirement lives instead of a last resort.

Nordstrom is not Neiman Marcus or Saks it is a great store with great items at reasonable prices.
