Newer members

I'm sure that those of us who have been around for a while are noticing that the new people coming on board have some really good writing skills. I'm enjoying reading the snippets of their work that they have made available. If I haven't made a specific comment, it's because I'm still reading, and working on getting a picture in my head of what the story is about, and a feel for the style, etc. before I jump in. There are others here with more experience than I at writing fiction, and who have had measurable successes.

I'm just an old English teacher. I hope I'm still learning. And I hope that some of you guys will give the Chatterbox a chance, so we can get to know each other better.

I joined about 40 days ago, alj (remember the link between us, the number 22 and our initials ). I have noticed the members going up even since I joined there has been about 7 or 8 new memebers.

Yes, AJ, and they come for different reasons, I think. Some use the board simply as a means of promoting their work, others for advice, and a few, if we haven't scared them off, to chat.

It's good to see the board growing, for whatever reason, especially when everyone is being considerate. I'm afraid that when it seems to me that someone is not, I have a tendency to respond in kind. My bad.
