"Both scams and amateurs thrive on inexperience and misinformation." |

| I fear I do not know! I venture to guess a word was left out. and "Both" is inappropriate.
Should read:
Scam artists and amateurs thrive on inexperience and misinformation.
or if both must be there:
Scam artists and amateurs thrive on both inexperience and misinformation. Color me mystified--- I don't know. Where did you find it? |

"Both scams and amateurs thrive on inexperience and misinformation." Unethical agents and publishers (scammers), particularly those who decided last week to become agents or publishers (amateurs) depend on the inexperience of eager new authors and the hype those authors are willing to believe. Those who are new to the business have not yet fallen under the eye of watchdog services. |

I can't wait for the Florida Attorney General to finally shut him down. |

Lane Rogers, would have structured it both more concisely and eloquently. |

| Clicked on the link -it was written by Marian Perera, did you expect coherency? What's even funnier is its pairing with that particular cartoon. 24 panels of repetition, boredom and nothingness -what a PERFECT partner to her post! lol |

| Yes, I did expect a guest post on a writer's website to be coherent. I couldn't make any sense of it. Al thinks the amateurs are amateur agents/publishers, in which case they would be thriving on the inexperienced and the misinformed, not on inexperience and misinformation.
If the amateurs are aspiring writers, then how do they thrive on inexperience and misinfromation?
It's only a nine-word sentence; surely, it should make sense? |

| Once an editor, always an editor. But you are right. I had to read the complete article to put that quote into context and find its apparent meaning. |

| I've tried that. I didn't get rich. The material I was sent to edit required a total rewrite...ghost writing is not my area. |

"...yes, but why write "those who are inexperienced or misinformed can become prey to scams and amateurs" here, when that would betray the fact that one can write normally now..." mentioned the goblin, who had joined that forum at some point only to be banned straight off solely because he had an internet history, smiling "...pity they can't judge for themselves then, but they did me a favor by it..." |
