Interesting. The proposed tuition, about $14K/year, is on the cheap side for a US school. OTOH, Europeans pay so much tax precisely because their social benefits, like schooling, are cheap or free. So I don't know whether to sympathize or not.

But then, maybe England is too generous with their social benefits. This story makes me laugh.

It can't be good, for the students. Taxes are also rising. Expect more riots.

I believe a modest hike would have been acceptable, but the hike intended is cause for rebellion.
LC, you're true to form. It seems that everything European to you is connected to social benefits. If that be true, it simply means that European governments cares more about their citizenry than the land of the almighty and plenty.
Robinhood took from the rich and gave to the poor. Bush-hood took from the poor and gave to the rich.

How many Somali immigrants can the UK afford to support in mansions, Abe? And is it fair that that one family got it and others don't? Or maybe they all should be supported like that.

Have you volunteered to share your house with an immigrant family?
