PA Says Watch Your Email

Novmeber 11 PA said to "Watch your email boxes, PublishAmerica is about to make a major book price announcement and you will like what you see. "

Can't wait to see what they have up their sleeve now.

So watch your email.
My last one was in October.
I will forward it to Betty.

Does anyone know what is going on?

They told me they were changing distributors to Ingram as an excuse for not having my buy
button on Amazon. Strange!

My books are still " TOO EXPENSIVE " from them,
Amazon is cheaper !

Last thing I got from them had to do with making the book available for Kindle - as soon as I paid them $99. I can't say I particularly liked seeing that one.

Every time I e mail them that I own the e book rights
to my first two books ( I have a letter from three years ago
stating this ) I get these nasty e mails from these young
people who don't know their asses from their elbows ! So I
have contacted a lawyer to sue them for $600,000- for
lying to me about sales and the e book rights ! I think their
sneaky , they raise their prices way above other books that's
why we don't make sales ! So I shall see what happens, I will
not deal with liers !

I'm feeling this way about the production department of my current book. And of the production manager, who, to make things worse, is a freelancer contracted with the publisher, and just cares about shoving it out, not shoving it out right.

Put it this way, these young people are probably paid
$10- hr , they know nothing and read from a script !
And a lot of publishers especially PA are screwing
authors.............But they know not who they deal
with a " New Yorker," who's more savy.....

I don't think you can sue them. At best you can go to arbitration. Can you afford a lawyer?
Lawyers are very pricey.

You are right about their staff. They probably have contests to see who can come up with the most outrageously rude replies, then laugh until their sides ache.

not patiently either--guess, "the watched pot never boils."

I did. The price for "activating" your book on Kindle has dropped to $49.

Aw Phooey! That is not good news. Just another way to get money from us.

There was another email not too long ago saying that PA would send someone to your house for around $1,400 to either interview you, rewrite your book with you, or clean your floors. I can't remember which it was. I usually just hit the "delete" button. Sometimes when I need a good laugh, I'll read their latest money-making scheme--you never know, I might be able to use one of these ideas in my own business! Ha!

$1400.00 is kinda steep to clean your floors.

Why rewrite your book--just to buy more yourself?

It depends on how dirty your floors are . . .

If you activate the "Look Inside" feature for your book at Amazon, then you can with no effort at all convert to a Kindle at no cost to you. Since they are putting them in Kindle anyway, the only difference is that you will get up to 70% of the Kindle price instead of PA.

I must have a letter from Pa asserting that I own the electronic rights.
I don't see them giving me this at this point.
I will let it go--just would be more money down the drain.

They did not say what they would charge to sell the kindle books or what I would get.

I know I would be out $50.00 for what? Who would know?

Boy am I glad I'm not with PA.
