| In my neighborhood, people of the ignorant persuasion have left behind their cats when they packed up and moved on. I imagine they did not do much for the cat of their dreams while they were living here and with the cat. Now, six cats come wandering around, stalking the bird feeders and making a little living eating doves and young, unsuspecting squirrels. I have tried to put out cat food but the fire ants find it forthwith. I could trap them, but I know they would not survive the humane society. How to tame a feral cat is the question. Love, Betty |

| I don't know the answer, Betty, but, tomorrow morning, Abe might provide one. |

| A friend of mine traps them, neuters them, gives them shots and puts them back in the wild. They do not tame well and will always go after their own food...regardless of what is provided.
My friend adopted one and tried to tame it. It was always bringing her "gifts." |

| I think about The Little Prince and the fox. My little dogs are not happy with the taming of anyone. Funny how kind they can be, and how selfish, too. I hope Abe knows the answer. Love, Betty |

| We feed feral cats, racoons, possums, the neighbor's roosters, and a fox. My brother built us an elevated feeder, a platform about six inches above ground on which we put the dishes of cat food. The fire ants do not seem to know how to climb. |
