Your Biggest Money Mistake?

This article got me thinking. My biggest money mistake was about 18 years ago. We bought a used Mercedes convertible because I wanted it badly. We bought it from a dealer, paid WAY too much, and sold it a year later at a huge loss when we needed a bigger car. We took a huge loss on it. I suppose in a way it was good, because it made me more careful about money.

What was your biggest money mistake, and what did you learn from it? You can put down more than one, lol.

Charging beautiful clothes on a charge card. I can't wear them all at once and shouldn't have gotten so many.

DK, divorce was your biggest money mistake? Are you saying in hindsight you wouldn't have gotten divorced?

Re Microsoft stock, I wasn't really aware of it when it went public, so I won't kick myself over it. I do kick myself over bailing out of hot stocks too fast, but shouldn't, since I've also ridden other "hot stocks" to the bottom.

People who make the decision to live in loveless marriages of convenience fare much better financially than those who choose to know love and divorce to find it. What price love? Very high sometimes.
