It has been done very successfully. What does success breed? More success? No it breeds a new generation of publishers with customised software to take your blog and turn it into a book.

With 36 million blogs out there and 75,000 new online diaries added daily, there's quite a market to be tapped.

Interesting possibility. There will be no shortage of reading material. It will be the wading through the mundane to find the pearl.

Sounds like a great idea. Books in print will survive longer than online blogs. Much of these web sites are like writing on the sand before the tide turns...

My most recent writing has been my Caringbridge site, a website for those with life-threatening illness where there is journal writing by the author as well as guestbook responses.

I meant it as a way to keep my family and friends informed. I have had over 4000 view the entries, and many have said they check it every day and call or email if I have neglected a journal entry. I am trying to make it honest, uplifting, and also a story of life-threatening illness and all it can bring.

Many have said it is a wonderful record of my experiences at this time of my life, a record for family and friends to keep.

I have no ides where it will end. But one thing that happens is that family and friends who find it will email groups they belong to: Marine squadron emails, college groups, relatives, Kiwanis, etc.

I don't want it to be just my story, but a story of survival, a journey, a story of hope and reality.

At the present time it is my writing, although this mind of mine is kicking in with new ideas and shorter blurbs on my computer.

And I think it is also good that you include those rare entries that express your concerns and down days. Getting them in print can help to release their influence. I always get a lot from reading them. Thanks for writing and sharing.
