PostSubject: Hello   Hello EmptyTue May 20, 2008 6:11 pm

Hello I'm an author. My website is http://www.silentlair.com. I write in Poetry, Fiction, and Children's Genres. I currently have 1 book published titled Silent Stalker that was published by Publish America in March 2007. I'm a Muslim. I'm not an extremist. I currently have four books completed, 3 of which are children books. Please check out my website and sign the guestbook why you are there. You can also view my MYSPACE page at http://www.myspace.com/spottedjaguar. My favorite animal is the wolf. I have been writing since I was 12 years old. Here is an article I was featured in February 2004 in the Newark Advocate that is based in Newark, Ohio:
Girl excels as poet

Academy student has works published

By Carey Checca
Jacksontown-Excel Academy sophomore Angie Blevins has been writing poems since she was 12 years old. Most were dark and sad. They reflected her turbulent childhood. Excel Academy teaches students with severe behavior handicaps, attention deficit disorder, autism, and dyslexia. "This is really good, but can you write something not so sad?" teacher Disiree Drumm asked Blevins in late 2002.

It was the first time anyone had asked Blevins to create something, anything positive. Blevins wrote "Pride in America". "I was so excited she had written it, I copied it and handed it out to teachers," Drumm said. Blevins' poem was printed last summer in an anthology titled "With One Voice." Drumm is like a proud mother when she speaks of Blevins's accomplishment.

Blevins, 17, of Granville, is petite with dark hair. She's shy and often doesn't look visitors in the eye. Sometimes, she's hesitant to talk to others. Getting one poem published has inspired Blevins to write more positive poems. "Memories of a Fallen Solider" hangs outside the door to Drumms classroom.

"Some people think it's uncool, but I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion," Blevins said. "I think it's cool." Blevins identifies with poet Edgar Allen Poe. He was misunderstood just as she is. And, she loves literature, including Charles Dickens' "A Tale of Two Cities", Jack London's, "The Call of the Wild," and works by Emily Dickenson.

This year she's taking English, creative writing, and journalism classes. She has dreams of writing enough poetry to publish her own book. "I feel real proud of myself for what I've accomplished," Blevins said.

My favorite animal is the wolf. I played vollyeball in 10th grade. I graduated high school twice, once socially and once academically. I am also a housewife. My husband treats me like a queen and is very nice to me. I hope you stop by my website and enjoy looking around. I look forward to being a part of this forum.

Yes, Angie, this is a good forum, warm and friendly even when there are disagreements. (They are just minor ones, I assure you.) I'm sure you will like it here.
