Hi...PEONYS Icon_biggrin

Last week and this week I bought two awesome
Peony bushes: " Duchesse de Nemours," a white
peony with a hint of yellow and a great fragrance.
The other one is called: " Mr. Ed Peony," It's pink
and some of the flowers can come out white, with
a delicate fragrance. I used to grow Peonys in NYC
and had five huge bushes, my livingroom used to look
like a florist shop, 50-75 flowers.....

The peony bushes that you bought sound lovely, Joe! I have three of them--two pink and a red one.

I had the two pink ones in the front yard for about 4 years and they never bloomed. I talked with a friend who told me that maybe they were planted too deeply. I moved them to the back yard, which is more sunny, and made sure they weren't planted as deeply. They are loving they're new home and bring much joy to me when in bloom--which they are getting ready to do!

Helen..

Peonys don't like too much niterogen,
They love full sun with some shade..They may
flower once a year but their worth their beauty.
I found a fertilizer the nursery recommended it's
called BR 61 , it's high number in the middle
9-58-8 Carl Pool BR-61. The high number in
the middle is Phosphate which helps flowering.
I use this on all the flowering plants in the garden
plus houseplants that flower..

Cheers..Joe
