The Chatter Box is a place for members to chat. Guests and members have complained about the chatter and think there is too much of it. Now they are complaining that there is not enough of it and they can't read it.

Forums have groups. This forum has three groups: Moderators, Mandinam Press and Members. I'm a member of all three, some are members of two groups and some are members of one. We change and evolve to suit the comings and going of the forum.

Guests and all members still have access to all the "serious" boards on the forum. Members still have access to the WIP board.

I’m enjoying myself if that’s any consolation and surely there’s room for both serious conversation and chatter on the chatterbox.

I like this. As members we can use the chatterbox for both serious and frivolous conversations, and just be ourselves without worrying about any public impact.

Does this now mean that "guests" won't be able to read or post in chatterbox?

Hi Helen,

The forum software allows moderators to change the settings for the forum and the individual boards. These tools have been developed at the request of forum administrators to deal with situations that affect members and the way the forum is used by visitors. Sometimes there is no alternative but to use these tools. For the moment, only members who are in the group "Members" have access to the Chatter Box.
