We'll I see it isn't going to well with Toyota and the hearings, I heard that lady testify and she really made an impression...I have a friend who works for Toyota as a salesman and even he thinks it doesn't look good, can't make any car sales. I read a lawyer who worked for the law firm that works strictly for Toyota is handing over 6,000 documents to prove that Toyota lied for the last five years and hit the true facts, I guess time will tell....I told my friend he should go back to Ford..
Cheers..Joe |

| It appears that Toyota is just one in a series of firms to take their lumps, with more to come. They have had a fine reputation, but a screwup can undo all the good. That's true for firms and individuals. Bad is highlighted more than good. |

| Yes, this seems to be a time for leveling the playing field.

It appears that user error was behind the "runaway car" problem. I particularly like that one old wreck who sobbed that her car "magically stopped by the grace of God." Yeah. Or she figured out which was the brake pedal. |

| My friend's toyota did not have that same fault. It had been on the road for only 6months and broke down on the motorway. |

| There is more problems with Toyota cars. There has been an engine problem and over 200 thousand cars have been recalled. What is wrong with their engineers or management? The Toyota image has gone from the top to crap category. |

| From what I can see, put any large corporation on the stand, encourage a few whistle blowers and the greed, the lies, the coverups to gain profits comes. through. It's not everyone; every company has its loyal, competent and honest employees and likely they are the majority. There is an executive culture, however, where shades of gray govern. They honestly believe in their decisions.
Small companies are not immune either. I have been told over many years to make the statistics right, whatever it took ("just spare me the details"). In other words, take the risk but protect the management. I have had employees bend the line to make a performance goal to keep a contract and I had to dance quickly to prevent the appearance of fraud.
It's a matter of degree. When someone dies, that line between safety and ROI becomes visible. |

| We have been very pleased with our Toyotas. Our gas pedals have not stuck. |

| If one were to examine the auto industry of the past and record the malfunctions, today's problems would look mild in comparison.

| Of course. But this is Toyota. What if this happened to Ford cars. People would say the same about them. Honda came out as the most reliable second hand car. I love my Honda. |

| Ford has had numerous problems.
Anyone recall the Pintos? Rear end collisons caused them to catch fire. How about the rollovers? Cars are troublesome.
I have had Toyotas since 1984. No problems.
Abe is right. |

| My prediction: CNN will be the end of the world. In their quest for news they will overnews us. By the time they get through, no car will be fit to drive, no President fit to be President and no food fit for human consumption. |
