Blogs are cool things Empty
PostSubject: Blogs are cool things   Blogs are cool things EmptySun Dec 06, 2009 10:24 am

A search engine turned this one up while I was googling ideas for rotisserie chickens.

http://www.livinglocurto.com/2009/03/weekly-meal-plan-week-4/

It's going to be our dinner tonight, except that I'm substituting Brussels sprouts for the asparagus. Brussels sprouts are Lynn's favorite, but Linda doesn't care for them, only Linda and Clint are out of town, visiting Chris' brother and their grandson. I wasn't in the mood to spend all afternoon in the kitchen. Store-bought rotisserie chickens are always a good option. I was getting tired of the same-ole green beans and new potatoes.

I'm thinking seriously about starting a mythology blog. What do you think?

That sounds interesting. I just thought of the caringbridge blog but mythology would be good also.

Alice,

The tree might happen. We'll have to wait for grandkids.

I've also thought of a food blog, but too many people are doing that already. The mythology blog would be much like my website, only the blog would be the central part. I've talked with my son-in-law, and am thinking about showing how our young veterans in Iraq and Afghanistan all have the same heroic characteristics as Audie Murphy.

It's just something I'm mulling over in my head.

Ann..

Get going , I like the idea, all these
great young men and women need support.
I'm putting together a Christmas box for a
young lady I adopted who's in the military.
She has already 5 Christmas bags loaded
with goodies, plus DVD's , books I've received
from PA Authors, I just hope I can tape the box
shut !

Cheers..Joe

I know, Joe. I will make a decision soon. I need to do something different. It may mean just paying more attention to my website, and updating it regularly. I could certainly post the hero stories there.

I like my site. Webs is very user friendly, and I have a domain name and no ads. I have heard that blog sites draw more viewers, though. On the other hand, when I posted the shipbuilding article my grandfather wrote, a few months ago, I almost immediately got a comment from the grandson of an individual my grandfather mentioned briefly in the article. The grandson had done a search on his family name, and my website came up.

And, BTW, the dinner went over very well tonight, and was very easy to make, so check out the blog in my OP. I was going to use the left-overs to make the Wednesday Dinner tomorrow, but their weren't any.

Ann,

The myth blog sounds good.

Alice,

BTW, I just had a facebook chat with my grandson and he's coming to help decorate for Christmas as soon as his finals are over,

The Red Cross is doing a lot for returning veterans and their families. They have been doing some workshops for families, as well as welcome home picnics. I'll check on more info.

We can't forget those waiting at home, moms, dads, spouses, kids.
