| I can identify with this, and it sucks. I bought two blue light bulbs and one red light bulb only the other week from a local store called "maplins" here in the UK. The red bulb is fine, but the two blue ones were damaged. I did not get a refund because the store has a policy of no returns on light bulbs - irrespective of whether the bulbs turn out to be in order or not. |

| I think their policy is illegal, Ahad. Try gettin in touch with trading standards and see what they say. You never know they might get you replacemants. |

| Well, we'll try to bring them back and hopefully we can exchange them. It's not like they burned out in a flash, they wouldn't light up at all. You would think that for $7 a bulb, they would make light bulbs that actually worked, but I guess not; as long as they get their paycheck at the end of the week that's all that matters to them. |

| AW PHOOEY! Where are we gonna shop? Home Depot has lousy light bulbs, Walmart gives away books. Borders is shutting down stores and Lowes has no winter cabbages. Time to quit shopping I guess Use candles. |

Gordon...
What kind of bulbs did you buy ? I recently bought the new ones that are curled, a bulb that's 40 watt burns like a 10 , a 60 watt burns like a 20..The reason I replaced all my bulbs is I found out in my compound starting I guess next year all the apts. will be paying their own utilities , right now it's included in the rent, so what they do is drop $110- from the rent, then you go to regular rent and pay your own electric, water, heating......
Cheers..Joe |

| They were CFLs, but with an intermediate base. I need bulbs with an intermediate base for a ceiling fan. I still have some incandescents I'm using in it along with the one CFL that worked. I was hoping to make the fixture more energy efficient and hoped the CFLs would outlast incandescent bulbs. I think I'll try again, hopefully the bulbs can be exchanged as they are faulty. |

Thanks Hairymob, I had the two blue ones replaced by the store after spme complaining by me. Out of those replacements, one still turned out damaged yet again... The coil filaments inside the bulbs tend to have extremely delicate connections, and they tend to break in transit. |
