PostSubject: Are you my friend?   Are you my friend? EmptyMon Jun 29, 2009 8:27 am

Is anyone here using the Friend/Foe feature of this forum?

I admit I only recently noticed it and sent out a number of 'Friend' requests and so far have received one acceptance.

It makes me wonder if anyone is really using it.

Actually, I consider everyone here a Friend and no one a Foe.

But ... just wondering if anyone else here is using the feature.

I clicked on a couple of friend buttons but saw no difference in how their posts appeared to me. I'll click on yours and we'll see if it makes any difference.

I didn't even know it was there, not that I see the need for it because like you Joelle, I see everyone as a friend here. Very Happy

Yes, we are all friends. Well, mostly. I see from clicking your 'add to friends list' that I have sent out a few request. but only Carol has responded. (I think). I have received no requests, and think maybe they would show up in the pm area. Maybe someone else can explain it to us. Oh, Shelagh!

Hi Zada,

If you click on "profile" you will see a link to foes and friends. I'm working on adding the list of friends to your profile. Then you can send pms to friends on your list.

JoElle,

I have added the advanced profile feature. The profile is now similar to a social network profile with a list of friends and comments. To leave a comment on a friend's profile, place the cursor to the right of "Comments" and click on the small icon that shows up. This will open a comment box.

Doctor,

That might be a good thing. Let us know more about you.

Zada,

I did use the feature and listed a bunch of friends to see how it worked, and then once I figured it out I'd add more. I never quite figured it out and got no response to my show of friendship.

Where is the feature? I know I'm not around much, but I consider everyone here a friend.

I didn't know it existed and agree with Lane. Like the doctor, I don't believe I have any friends or foes. I hope this isn't another of those things where you get a message saying, "Dingbat wants to be your friend" and you have to accept or deny. There is a thing like this on the edit page for my website. Every morning when I check to see if it's working a message pops up "You have no friends." Thanks for reminding me.

I had noticed the feature. I knew what a foe was, had been curious about the friend part. Thanks for the explanation.

Dick, I consider you my friend and there is nothing you can do about it!!!!

So there it is. You have at least one.

What a bother! Now, Dick, you will have to click on "Profile" and then "Friends and foes" to accept JoElle as a friend. Are you my friend? 986243

I'm not named after the BBC character, but thanks. I am a regular on AW and I'm here just observer and ask the odd question now and then. You can find me on my writers' boards, usually with a avatar of an owl and names that have 'doctor' in them.

I'm mostly harmless. Carry on.

How MySpacey. Smile This is done on some other boards I post on. I can't figure out the point other than to make those with less "friends" feel anxious about it! Of course, I feel the same way about "rep points."
