| I was bicycling this morning along the riverside and found the district there been left untouchable with growing bushes and the rotten wooden houses. I then took the park side of the city and went to the open air marked place where there were lot of folk of any sort. I didn’t find a chair to sit down at the cafeteria, for; it was full of Finn, A very noise group of tourist from Finland, doesn’t matter they were my county fellow I didn’t want exchange a word with them. And when I came in the centre city there were more tourist, drinking their jolly beer and shouting each other. Looking at them I some times, I cannot but feel just a like Peter when he saw Jesus standing by fire among the roman solders. - I don’t know that man. After collapsed of the communist, Estonian people felt national brotherhood toward Finland and as there was little bit similar language there also had been for years the Finish TV that was to be seen within the northern Estonia. The situation has changed by to day. Estonian people have got their national consciousness and even the finish tourist is one of the main important sources of incomes – especial to Tallinn – there is still growing antipathy among average people towards those noise tourists.
Since the days to-day the sun came out. Cheerio! Harry |

Lot of folk of any sort. A great phrase. Sounds like you had a good morning. |

| Harry,
Last night I reread all your stories here. I googled a map of the area to see where you were traveling. A couple of years ago we took a river cruise that went between Budapest and the Black Sea and then took a train to Bucharest, Bulgaria.
It was a good trip as education was a part of it, and we learned much about the history of the area. The fall of communism was especially fascinating. We had lunch at a home in one of the countries in a town that had been devastated by the "Homeland War." Students came on our small boat and answered our multitude of questions. The guides told us about life under communism.
I have been fortunate to travel the world because my husband worked for an airline. I have loved every minute of it, even when things did not go well.
Keep the stories coming, Harry. I can't travel now, but am going places through your stories.

| Dear Harry, I know another person who bicycles at the rate of 30 miles a day. He is 70 something. I told him that it was excessive in the Florida heat. He does not care about the rain, the sun the wind or the heat. He goes forth. He rides to see the sights along the way. He says that he takes off at dawn. Me, I do not even get up until the sun comes up. The sun and I have that agreement. It is my retirement. I used to get up and be out and about before daylight. No more. When I do go out to work, I work and work and work and sweat and look around at the wilting flowers and watch my dogs go to the house and cool off. They are not nuts. I am about to shut down for the summer. Farming is so hot and people must not need food in the summer in Florida where the temperature is a lovely 97 and on my ground cover it is 115. I think I have fried my brains. Love, Betty |

| Based on the last two posts I would prefer Estonia over Florida any day. |

| Right now it is 71 degrees fahrenheit and is supposed to get to 87 today.
It is a gorgeous day in Wisconsin, what we endure the cold winters for!

| As for this Floridian, I don't venture too far from an AC vent. It has been over ninety for two weeks, and over one hundred for the past four days.
I went out this morning to water and weed my little garden. Had to come inside when I got the black twirlies.
Yet, I try to recall the winter days when I can go out and crank up the grill, and I receive emails from my friends up north who are shoving snow and sliding on ice.
Life is a series of trade-offs.
As to aggravating tourists, Harry, we have more than our share here in the Sunshine State. They wear silly Mouse hats and run around in black dress socks and sandals. They drink until they pass out, annoy the wild life, and wear outfits I wouldn't be caught dead in...
But they help us to avoid a state income tax.
I always wonder why people act so bizarre when they aren't on home turf: one of life's mysteries. |
