The first quarter that ended May 2nd showed less of a decline in sales than they had projectd. Previously it was expected to be a 6 % to 9% loss, but it turned out to be only 7%.

They attribute the decline in part to digital publishing. You can find the article here:

They are adjusting their projections for the year.

Maybe there is still some hope? I really think the digital venue is taking a big bite out of traditional publications. I am of course thinking of newspapers as well.

Oddly enough, sales increased for Indigo as well as Books a Million.
