Hardly a world-shaking news bulletin, but my story Panic On Portage Path that appeared in the February 2008 issue of Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine is a finalist in the novelette catagory for a Derringer Award. I do not expect it to win.

I'm on a list too, Dick, and I don't expect to win. Still, it's good to be listed. Of the two of us, I would say you would be the more likely winner. Since you don't like flattery, I won't say that you would also be more deserving.
