| Hi Everyone!
Thanks, Don, for telling me about this forum. I see some old friends as well as some names I recognize and hope to get to know.
Like Lynda, I’ll be sporadic in posting for the next couple of weeks. My son is getting married and I’ll be housesitting until they return.
So sorry to hear about your friend, Lynda. I hope you’ll keep us posted. And I have to agree with George. The cover for your book is awesome. Congratulations!
George, I read that you were in band in Florida in the early sixties. Hello! Our band in Louisiana was very active during that time and that’s the only reason I wanted to go to school. Still miss it to this day. |

| Hello Brenda and a big hello from the Highlands of Scotland (which are gorgeously sunny today). I played in a band too, but nothing impressive. I played rhythm guitar in a pub band playing covers only. But it was fun! Nice to meet you. |

| Hi George! You also played in a band? That's great. I've tried to meet musicians as I think they're special people, but so far, no luck. I love to listen to bands, and it doesn't matter if it's a marching or a pub band. I love them all.
So you’re a Scotsman. I’ve been told I’m Scotch-Irish with some German thrown in—at least that’s what I was told when I was a child and displayed a stubborn streak. |

Hi Don! Congratulations on your book. How exciting!
George, when you get a chance, tell me about Scotland. Is it as green and beautiful as I imagine? I've always wanted to visit, but not sure I'll ever get there. |

| Love the cover, Shelagh. So you suffer from Sunday paperitis, huh? At least it's not fatal, at least not yet. |

Thanks Brenda! Lassie is Scottish, Shelagh is Irish, Watkins is Welsh and I'm English! Sunday paperitis isn't fatal and there is a cure -- but you'll have to read the book to find out! |

| Now you can say you're international, Shelagh.
Loved the photos, George. Thank you. Jenny said they made her homesick. Well, I felt the same way, and I haven’t even been there—at least not in this life.
If I get a chance while housesitting, I'll drop in. If not, see y'all in a couple of weeks. |

Hi Brenda, Usually I played flute and piccolo, but sometimes saxophone and even (under duress) a glockenspiel (which I think is German for "bloody heavy")! |

| A flute and/or a sax? Totally different species, Pam. I played a clarinet, but in later years I also subbed on an alto and bass clarinet, but I didn't have to learn different fingering. Now I'm really impressed.
Have you, by any chance, heard of a march called Gloria? It's an old one. |

| Welcome Brenda,
It is great to see you again!! I have been off-line for a bit, work and duty call, and sometimes the Internet isn't available everywhere.
Anyway, I am glad you are here. You always provides some of the best advice on other forums.

Have you, by any chance, heard of a march called Gloria? It's an old one. Well surprisingly, fingerings for flute and sax are very close, so it's not as tough as you'd think. The glock was another matter! I have heard Gloria - it shows up on TV once in a while too. We played a lot of them, some of which I can still play in my sleep! |

| Hi Lynn! Thanks for the welcome and good words, altho judging from all your accomplishments, I doubt you need advice. I think I need to learn from you! You truly seem to live life fully.
You've heard Gloria, Pam? I haven't heard it since high school.
Funny, after all those years in band, I never realized a flute and sax keys were similar. I'd still shake my head over it, tho. |
