| Had a new squamous cell skin cancer cut out Tuesday. It proved to be a real bleeder. Also had the stitches removed from the third attempt to get rid of the other one. It looks like it may be coming back for the fourth time. If they cut out more there won't be much left of the top of the hand. The longer it is there, the greater chance of it spreading to other places. So in brief, the answer is the hand is a mess. |

| Dick,
I am so worried and sorry. Take care.
Maybe you should go to the Mayo Clinic.

| Dick, that sounds serious. Wish there was something we could do to help. |

Dick,
I don't mean to interfere and realize you like your doctor. I liked mine too and left them--that is why I am alive.
As stated previously, I think your doctor needs to brush up on pain control---it wouldn't hurt to get another opinion on the cancer treatment either.
I found it very difficult to change doctors, but once I did it I was so glad I did.
For your sake and ours--please get another opinion.
There is a great difference iin outlook and treatment in doctors.
I can't believe how antiquated some are. They lack curiosity and get bogged down in the day to day business of caring for a patient.
You need a new perspective from your doctor.
He does not need to entertain or amuse you--we want him to fix you and alleivate your misery.
Best,
Alice |

| It shows how much you care, Alice. If I had the slightest bit of advice to offer, I wouldn't be able to stop myself blurting it out ... another Lancashire trait; we have to share everything! |

| Don't worry about it, I don't. There is so little pain it's not worth thinking about. In the past 21 years I've been to more than half a dozen specialists and they're all about the same for this sort of thing. For the serious ones they cut, get a biopsy, cut some more and on and on it goes. If you live long enough, there comes a time when it is a race among many things to see which can beat the others in finishing you off. That's just the way it is and it doesn't bother me a bit. Let's see, I've already had 65 bonus years so how can I complain? |
