Hi Abe,
It was interesting setting it up just to find out how blog tours are perceived. My idea was to send out information to be pasted onto blogs. I viewed the tour as me visiting blogs to talk about the anthology. I invited all the contributors to join in and Chelle asked for December 1st. I said okay and stated writing the first blog entry for Chelle's blog.
Last Monday, I received an email from Chelle saying that the blog was all set up, including the link ready to go live. I wondered what she had done but carried on regardless. I sent the word document and heard nothing, so I assumed it was okay.
This morning, I visited Chelle's blog and realised exactly what she meant. She had already written the blog entry and had to squeeze in the file I sent. It wasn't exactly the way I wanted to start the blog tour but it gave me the idea to invite people to follow the tour to learn more about how they work. It was a good example of lack of communication. I was so busy setting it up, I assumed that everyone would wait until I sent out the information and then everything would become clear. Evidently not. A good lesson in the learning!
