Thank you. What a relief. I asked the same question on Facebook only said 16 year old and the answer was, a car.

I don't completely agree with the gift ideas mentioned. Anyone can write a check and once the money is spent, it is forgotten. Something personal has lasting value. My grand kids provide us with the best presents. They send a drawing with a note. We have kept them all. I have a special board where they are posted and we can enjoy them year round. Those who knitt/crochet can make gloves or socks. For me, it is the thought that counts, not the monetary value. If one choose money, then a Gift Certificate would be more meaningful. You can write something personal on the Certificate that makes it special.

Abe, a sixteen-year-old boy does not want to receive a pair of wooly socks or a drawing from his grandparents!

Agree Shelagh. If the kid is involved in sports, like my grandson, he treasures the Soccer Shirt of the German National Team. It is something special and different. People here walk around all the time wearing New York Yankees baseball hats, or T-Shirts "I love NY" or some souvenir they bought from wherever they were on vacation. Kids especially want to stand apart. Being creative in what to buy that will be special for them works and it doesn't have to cost much.

Well, I fooled you. Dave is getting him a golf club. They went mini golfing and he hit a hole in one. So a golf club of course. LOL
