My name is Gina, and I live on the southwest coast of England with my husband and eight female rats. I'm an artist and writer, and my first book, "Utamaro Revealed", has just been published. Although the current book is a fact book, I am working on a novel at the moment which is about ninety percent complete, and that's been great fun.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all. Writing can be something of a lonely occupation, and it's good to talk. Very Happy

I'm puzzled about the eight female "rats." I initially thought you meant "cats," but then again it might have been unsavory female friends that you so named.

No, I really do live with eight female rats... fancy rats. Actually, in the not too distant future I am going to be writing a book about them.

We've been by the sea for almost six years now (I think... time flies by so quickly). The girls are tame fancy rats... very interesting people they are too. They are so misunderstood, and I thought I'd write about them to share what I've learned so far with regards to their behaviour, and their various mental and emotional states, in the hope that if they are better understood they can be better provided for. I am a bit of a rat obsessive. Embarassed
