| Life is too short to worry about regrets. Live and be happy! |

| "If you do follow your bliss you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. Follow your bliss and don't be afraid, and doors will open where you didn't know they were going to be.” Joseph Campbell |

| Old saying: Nobody ever said on their deathbed, "I wish I'd spent more time at the office."

| If I compiled a list of, "What I would do different"...the word count would be over two million. I think in the end we come out the same.
What about you Abe...what would you have done different? |

| What would I have done different? Telling people I love them. For some reason that is very difficult for me to say. If/when I say it, I truly mean it. Problem is, I don't say it often enough. |

| Greek Scriptures show four different types of love.
The Greek words for ‘love’
There were at least four different Greek words that we translate as the English word ‘love’. This variety actually helps us in the work of translation because each of the four different Greek words carries a slightly different definition from the other three. I think like most of us Abe, we show love without knowing it. With only one word for love, it could leave us with the feeling, “We don’t express it that much.” Understanding that there are different types of love, shows we do express love in more ways than one. I also build these different types of loves into my characters when I write. This makes it a little clearer as to what the original means. These words were:
STORGE: This is the type of love signifying the natural affection between kinfolk. This word appears only occasionally in the New Testament and only in compound form.
PHILEO: This Greek word for love signifies, “…spontaneous natural affection, with more feeling than reason” (Elwell, p. 1357). Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance defines phileo as, “to be a friend to…fond of an individual or object; having affection for (as denoting attachment); a matter of sentiment or feeling”.
AGAPE: This Greek word for love is by far the one that appears most frequently in the New Testament. It is, “…generally assumed to mean moral goodwill which proceeds from esteem, principle, or duty, rather than attraction or charm… [it] means to love the undeserving, despite disappointment and rejection…Though agape has more to do with moral principle than with inclination or liking, it never means the cold religious kindness shown from duty alone, as scriptural examples abundantly prove”
EROS: this Greek word was not used in the New Testament. It refers to sexual love and probably derived its name from the mythical god of love. Jesus said to, “AGAPE your enemy,” which means, “I don’t like my enemy. Want nothing to do with them, but, I won’t hurt them, and yes, I will even help them,” |

| I should have held together my first marriage, but it would have taken a spirit of forgiveness that I did not possess at the time. His life and my own would have been more productive and better for our son. One cannot, however, put today's reasoning power into the past as a judge to say "I should have." The person in the past was someone else who made the best decisions at the time with the information at hand.
I can only make the best decisions for today, and that's a challenge. |

| Full reasonability for what we have done, is the water for growth. I carry a short list of “Key buttons,” I to defuse. True they come from who I was, but who I was, is still me. |
