"So, so sorry I've been lax in my hairdressing duties," Maiden Helen gasped, finally showing up. "I have all that is needed here in my new cosmetic bag to make Maid Marion gorgeous again. Hey! Where is everybody?"

Alice was so glad to see Helen that she collapsed from joy. Finally another reliable helper!
When Ann returns there will be two wonderful helpers.

Maiden Helen luckily has smelling salts in her bag and brings Maiden Alice back to find Maid Marion. Maiden Ann won't return for possibly another day or so, so they plotted their strategy to fix Maid Marion's horrible scraggly hair and blackened front tooth.

Alice knew a wonderful dentist who would cap the tooth. Helen could fix the hair and Alice would rejoice.

Maid Marion was so happy to be beautiful again.

The strategy worked! Maid Marian could hardly believe the miracles these two wonderful maids were able to perform. She was quite transformed!

"We must find him!" exclaimed Maid Helen. "Maid Marion will surely heal his injured heart. Let's be off on the hunt for Robin."

" I have hunting dogs and sticks and lights. We will beat the bushes until we find him.
May it be sooner rather than later," replied Alice.

"Well, where is Robin? where is Maid Marion, Ann and Helen? I can't do everything myself',"
whined Alice.

My dear Alice, the New Year is upon us. 'Tis time for the merrymen to dance and sing and give homage to new beginnings. Maybe we should cast off the old and make a new start -- a brand new story.

"I am not the bsss here. You and Robin are in charge. i just follow orders."
said Alice

Me thinks that Maid Marion is feeling the heat and wants to get out of the kitchen.

Perhaps Maid Marion will come up with a new twist. Perhaps it will occur dancing with the merry men.

Yes, the dancing merry men were at sea (The Merry Men by Robert Louis Stevenson) before they were shipwrecked and had to swim to an isolated island.

Maid Marion danced until she collapsed...

Dying at sea could mean people jumping ship. Will they make it to safety? Do they want to?

Yes, the merry men want to live, they want to save the beautiful Maid Marion from the ferocious beasts
who are now circling her and sniffing her with their pointed noses and licking their lips at the thought of devouring her tasty arms , legs, etc.

I think I picked the wrong time to be part of this story - I'll wait for the next one :-)

Oh no, DK, don't leave us! We are all at sea and we need your sailing skills.

Robin was looking for a life raft. He spied a sail boat with the name Diane on the side and didn't lose hope.

"Good, fast thinking, Marion Maid!" Exclaimed Alice.

"There is hope. Robin is near."

"Methinks I like this island," Maid Marian said. "It is warm, the sea is blue and the sand is fine. I shall explore the land away from the shore to find fresh water and shelter. Where's dear Alice? She will soon make this island into a home."

A tropical island! How far away this is from any of my work projects. What a delightful way to escape from my work-a-day world.
